Actually, most of the Bible doesn't even mention Jesus. Only the New Testament mentions him, as well as certain vague prophecies in books of the Old Testament, but never by name in those. Here's the dealio... Religion evolved. First there was the idea of a divine creator... because there were too many phenomena and not enough explanation. But over the years It became something more. It is true that there is a history of corruption and misuse of religion, which i think is still in place today ( people trying to justify everything through the bible and god). The reason as to why i despise most religion and religious people is because they accept no other view points, only good is right... blablabla. however i talked to some people and i realized that for some people Religion is not about doing the will of god, but Religion is about unity,community, that people feel a common ground through faith. And even though I am atheist, i respect these people because their motifs are completely understandable. However, i despise those people who use the Bible and their believes to criticize and condemn others, who make it seem like good is a dictator and that God forces everybody to stay abstinent until marriage or else you'll burn in Hell. I disagree that Christianity or Catholicism (which is a branch of christianity) is based on fear and punishment. It is based on love of God and your neighbor, and selflessness to receive eternal salvation. I am not trying to demand that people take sides, but if you believe in God then i feel sorry for you that you do not follow him, regardless of your belief in Him. I would just ask that before you define the basis of any religion you should research it first.   See 14 other replies

First of all, please don't mistake mormonism with Christianity, although they call themselves Christian and would like to be viewed as Christian they are not. As far as sides being blinded or. not wanting to see the others point of view, is a flaw in human nature. Its called sin, and no matter what you say or believe everyone is a sinner. So when you get into debates about religion or any other topic, just keep that in mind. Everyone is self-centered and does things to "better" their life.   See 14 other replies

Please read my post, "The Real Reason We Exist", I'm in agreemwnt with you that people have too much time on their hands... Too much time to judge others, and too much time to hate one another for our differing viewpoints. This was a " NO-Nonsense" film. Let's attempt to put all the "religious" stuff aside. This was a good film. God made us all, and He made us ALL different... FOR A REASON!!! My suggestion is that His reason for giving us differing viewpionts was so that our limited minds could better concieve of His Vastness.   See 1 other reply
