Ramen Fighter Miki

I don't get the Japanese love for invincible school girls, but this one was hilarious, the set up with the characters and the take-off on Power Rangers was great stuff, Hell's Bunny (for showing up in the credits) has such a small part to play, I wish they had done more with it. The episodes were great, though confusing at time since the same mini episodes in the same clip started the same, I thought that a couple of times the episodes were badly edited. Missus is definitely the most amusing character, and I loved the Drunken Kung Fu fighter clip. The last episode is great in that they know its a show, make fun of it through the series, and have take-offs on pretty much everything. Way better than I thought it would be, and was not disappointing.

I've always loved anime like this, it almost brings back my Excel Saga days.
I only wish there was more of it on Hulu. Don't get me wrong, the Naruto's and Full Metal Alchemists are great, but sometimes it's nice to kick back and have a good belly laugh at the expense of a handful of truly crazy characters.

Normally i can't stand this type of loud and obnoxious anime. The pointless screaming and yelling is used to add 'excitement' to make up for a lack of plot.And yet it still got a few laughs out of me, not so much for the pervasive slapstick, but quirks in the characters.Don't get me wrong, it's still loud and obnoxious and shallow to a point, but it has enough subtlety to keep it going. The ongoing battle between Miki and Megumi is predictable but also creative at times. The depressed emo-like spirit spoofed from the grudge was amusing as well.Not my favorite, and not sure I'd recommend it... but it was good for a few laughs.

At first I thought this anime would be similar to Yakitate or Cook Master Boy. However, this wasn't anything like them at all, most of the main characters are so dimwitted that they make me feel like they're drilling a hole in my brain and the story isn't very good. Don't let the title mislead you there is very little relevance to Ramen aside from the main character, Miki, working at a Ramen shop. The only thing that makes this anime somewhat watchable is the art and the level headed side characters that have little screen time and relevance to the story.

I really like Ramen, but I don't like cliche animes like this. Really not enjoyable.
