I hadn't heard of this movie, but after seeing the cast, I couldn't help but check it out. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised to find an enjoyable dark comedy. It's interesting to see how far some of these actors and actresses have come, since appearing in this film! One thing I would like to add though, Hulu, is that I wish there was a link to a movie (and/or TV Show)'s IMDb page, since all that Hulu offers is a brief review section. Anyway, sorry this is so long, and thank you for the endless quality entertainment!
I am a sucker for these types of films (Dangerous Beauty, Dangerous Liaisons, etc...) so naturally this one was good too. Geoffrey Rush, Joaquin Phoenix and Kate Winslet do a great job.
Caine, Winslet, Phoenix!!!! That alone is worth watching but then you add the comedic genious of Geoffrey Rush---brilliant! I've been a fan of Rush's since I saw him portray Peter Sellers----much the same character in this! http://jfwrtv.freeforums.org
I love it in play form and as a movie. The cast is amazing. They were able to bring the energy that one sees in the play to the big screen with ease and clarity.
In all honesty this was a well plotted movie with shocking twists . At the moment tho I am disapointed with Hulu.com for posting this in the Drama catagoy without mentioning its graphic bit of horror side . Tho thi isnt a horror movie I had been interested in watching a Drama or comendy before bed , this story was so gripping that once I realised the level of repultion I would feel if I continued to watch I had to know the ending to the plot. At the moment I feel week in the knee's shaky and being that I almost puked at one scene in this movie I feel incredibly sick to the stomache along with depressed .
This movie had remarkable acting and a well thought out plot but like the story lining itself this movie was , being that you may need a strong stomache to watch the whole thing . Its almost as if you are stuck inside that insane asilim with them .
