Psycho ('98)

Now don't get me wrong I like Vince Vaughn, but He's no Anthony Perkins. He just doesn't fit, the other actors were great but, someone else should of played Norman Bates, and I know who too, Ralph Fiennes, watch Red Dragon, and you'll see, his characters in it is a lot like Norman Bates, he would have been perfect, He even reminds me of Perkins a lot.

For the most part, this is a shot by shot, line by line reconstruction of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 masterpiece. Years ago, I read about how Hunter Thompson studied writing by spending hours and hours obsessively copying Faulkner word for word in longhand. After years making quirky independent films, Gus Van Sant had finally produced a major moneymaker with "Good Will Hunting". He could have made anything he wanted after that, and he chose this meticulous deconstruction of one of the most precise cinematic masterpieces of all time. Anyone with a serious interest in film will gain a deeper insight into the consumate technique of the original. Everyone else should stay away. And if you've never seen the original, by all means, go rent it right now!

I liked the orginal... this one was ok. I just felt they should have stayed in one time period. I dont remeber people in the 90's dressing like that. If you dress like you were in the 50's, why do you have a walkman? Other then that... it was ok. Everything was done shot by shot from the orginal (from what I can remeber). Like it says on the title "Atleast it was free" Thanks Hulu!-Sal

It is almost shot for shot like the original, and I think all the actors did a good job...Viggo Mortenson and Vince Vaughn especially. Worth watching... it's just not all blood and gore like horror movies today

I was told, when this movie was released, that it was an exact copy of the original.It is more than that. It still is a copy, but there were some updates.

This franchise has potential but for whatever reason, they simply copied the original here bit by bit---It's a shame too because the cast probably could've delivered on a better film if there were any new things added to separate it and make it special.
