Paul Mooney: Analyzing White America

Do you actually believe Paul Mooney believes his own s***... Most likely not. The matter of fact is, Paul Mooney has made a name for himself as the crazy "Black Guy" who talks about dumb and racist white people. He has been handed thousands and thousands of dollars to keep this act. And so he has. Just like any musician who has changed their sound or looks to make the cut. Just like any rapper from the safe harbors of a suburban neighborhood who dresses like a thug and spits about killing on his album. Just like a Senator that has been running for 20 years and promotes change, yet he has never back a bill that succeeds. Just like anyone who has ever changed their goals for money. Ladies and gentlemen, I wish not to disrupted your day, however, love has been accepted as a wasteful commodity and currency is what runs the world. Unfortunate for us, people are willing to do anything to get it... even murder. At least Paul Mooney sticks with worthless racist crude of, a lack of a better term, comedy stand up. African Americans suffered for hundreds of years of slavery. You guys can suffer for the next 20 years of bull spit talentless 'artist' like Paul Mooney who want to shove it (slavery) down your throat. I obviously don't support his words. However, my grandfather, my uncles, and my self, have fought for the right for him to say every d*** word. I would prefer he say it, and those choose to ignore it by not buying his albums and movies, than hearing an American, no matter what color or creed, having to keep his mouth shut.Basicly, ladies and gentlemen, if you are like me and you don't like what is being said, change the channel. No one is forcing you to watch. And buy all means, if you want to talk about it... Its your given right to do so. Sire Doime, I am a history major that specializes in the history of Africans and Caribbean cultures. You are incorrect. After a war, the victor would sell those that survived to the Europeans. By Europeans, I mean all controlling countries/powers in Europe in that time. Once the Caribbean was found and mapped correctly, they began imp€orting the slaves to the islands also known as the trans-Atlantic slave trade.At this point in time, the natives to the island where slaughter and caught. They were forced to breed with the Africans like cattle. Puerto Rico is a prime example of this. This is why many Puerto Ricans can have pale skin and blue eyes while others are dark brown skin and brown eyes. I am the first of my entire lineage to be born on American soil (Army base). My father is usually mistaken for an African American, while my mother looks like any other brunette Caucasian in America. When I was young, I use to ask my parents why, when the two cities they where born in were less than 3 miles apart, was dad black and mom white. My mother made me create a 4 page report about it. I have never looked away from history since. So, before you ask others to read, I would recommend checking your sources. This is a passion of mine and even the old African tales describe slavery after war. Slavery has been a part of Africa, as far back as writing, unfortunately.   See 12 other replies

I find it interesting that one of the first things you wished to point out was my race. Why would you assume I'm white? Because my writing shows I'm educated and articulate? As a point of fact I am white. Jewish to further clarify. Now would you like to discuss the atrocities that befell your people in the 1800's or shall we discuss my peoples much more recent atrocities? At least it would bear some relevance in this day and age. After all... There are still living Nazis out there. The reason I can tell you to move on is because my people and I have done so ourselves.
There are also Native Americans to consider in this debate as well. Do you think the suffering of your people outweighs the outright slaughter of theirs? In the overall scheme of horrible things done to different races... slavery isn't sitting near the top and yet it's the only one still being brought up consistently. I'm curious as to why that is.

Ps: Their own homeland. What are you talking about. They're Americans my friend not Africans, They've been here longer than many of us, and if they did have recent ties to Africa, Africa is huge and has many countries not everyone in Africa is from Sudan.   See 12 other replies

what makes me so sick is that they talk about how bad it is here and ignore whats going on in their own homeland. Sudan Darfur for example. Try doing a little research things are much better here even in the worst conditions.   See 12 other replies
