People not getting the joke (or pretending not to) is part of the fun with the onion's wonderful low-key parody style, but William Shatner is an excellent actor who was instrumental in the initial success of Star Trek, and has continually gotten better over the years. See his "Boston Legal" work and tell me the man can't act.
