I'm surprised there are no reviews here yet.
As a person who finds the act of pregnancy and childbirth very fascinating, I quite enjoyed this show. And I actually feel it is one of the better programs about the medical birthing process out there, thanks to its relatively simple format.
My only issues with the show have to do with the occasional silly, and sometimes obviously fake, sound effects. This can include bad snoring sounds or instrumental accents to highlight a "funny" moment or facial expression. To the show's credit, this doesn't happen constantly, but I can't help but find the additions unnecessary and a little distracting. Really, guys, if the situation is humorous, I'll laugh. I don't need a sound queue.
The worst offended of this has to be the pretend "camera gear-movement" effects. You'll know 'em when you hear 'em.
But to be honest, these gripes are small in the overall quality of the show. Beside those amazing, modestly edited programs you can only find on DiscoveryHealth (which sadly, doesn't exist anymore, I am told), One Born Every Minute is a pretty decent, if lighthearted, look into the world of hospital birthing.
