The S.O. and I fell in love with this one! We love discovering rare gems and this is fantastic! If you care more about the fashions than the acting, writing and plot... the S.O's peaking over my shoulder and calling you "heartless". But then again, that's life with a romantic. We just didn't notice that shallow stuff for chatting about the show, and snuggling. This ones a winner! Thanks Hulu!

People seem to think this show is new because it wasn't shown in the US when it came out. It's from 2000 (If I remember correctly) so cut it some slack. Shows in the UK usually run 6 or 7 episodes in a series (Unlike 22 or 23 in the US) Is this the best show I've ever seen? Nope, but I remember watching it when it came out (and was involved in a UK - US long-distance relationship myself) and I quite enjoyed watching it. It's enjoyable, mindless TV.

I think the writing on this show and the flow of the plot was somewhere right under mediocre. Edie was so obnoxious and a self-important faux-diva who thrives on others believing she's such a good and noble person. Sure, an adult literacy program is great and definitely having a passion for helping others is wonderful, but using it as the hammer you beat all arguments about focusing your life with is just shallow. If she cared about it so much, she'd find a way to do it full time. Michael's character was more believable, and so very reservedly British, but for a man who seems to be a marvelous salesman, he's terrible at communicating with real people. Anyways, the split screens was too much. It got tedious. Every episode people were crying because they were too stupid to plan ahead and actually talk to each other.On the up side, this show made me feel better knowing I'm not as ridiculous as these characters.
