thank god im not the only one who couldn't follow this story, im just now even hearing of this Bakemonogateri.. or what ever. but to late i've just watched every episode. The art work is great, it's what attracted me to begin with ( i never seen this kind of art work before and i've watched over 100 anime series from start to finish)

this is the second season, if you go watch bakemonogatari you can understand more of who they are and how they first met. See 2 other replies

I can't go into too much detail, else risk a banning through self-incrimination or appearing to promote illegal activities, but unless you have seen Bakemonogatari this show will make no sense. The problem is the only way to see Bakemonogatari for those of us outside of Japan is either importing dvd's and knowing Japanese (in which case, why are you watching hulu?), or watching fansubs. Save the show on your "to watch list" but also add Bakemonogatari to that list and place it in front of this one. They are both absolutely fantastic animes that I could rant and rave about being a shining gem in the current mediocrity that is the medium, but I'll save that for another day, for I don't want to be encouraging people to do things that could get them in legal trouble.

I've been following this series on crunchyroll, but I'm not a paid member there.
It seems like you cannot just jump into this series without first going through the previous series Bakemonogatari!
I'm still lost on what is going on too, and I've gone through 4 espisodes already!

Please Hulu, can you pick-up Bakemonogatari so we can all understand what is going on with this series???

Animation is good, and the pace is fast n furious - sorta like Welcome to NHK and FLCL.
You get no clue what is going on - hell, they only mention vampires in episode 4!
