Molto Mario

Italian..... raised by Italians, grandparents came over on the boat..... I grew up eating the best of Italian..... big city, amazing little Italian stores in the '50's.... Sigh...Mom cooked with all the same adoration and blessed nuances which Mario knows in his soul - pure Italian. (She made all our pastas, sausages, everything from scratch. She cooked artichokes, stuffed, diced stem included, of course - in solid pure olive oil. Went through gallons of it at a time. No clogged arteries for us.) ---No one, NO ONE knows Italian like Mario. ---- Mom, home, and the Italian shops as they were then, are gone, ---- Mario takes me back home for dinner. I was quite happy to see Molto Mario on Hulu - Mario's a great cook, keeps up an interesting banter through the show, and shows a lot more of the actual process of cooking a meal than even Alton Brown. (Plus he cooks in a tiny little kitchen that's more like the space I have to work with!)   See 6 other replies

I like Batali, he is very down to earth I enjoy that more than the more than the more stage or performance type cooking shows. I also like they have ppl watching him and can question him when ever.   See 6 other replies

Oh come on, Batali's not a bad choice. I mean, look at the rest of their shows: what the first Food Network show was Semi-Homemade Crap with Ms. Brainless Twit? Or the Butter Queen. Or some EVOOOO. At least this show has good recipes (although clearly Alton Brown should be headlining ;)).   See 6 other replies
