Among a sea of silly teenager romantic dramas like Secret Garden, 49 days, and all that “pasta” and “coffee” fluff, I decided to watch this series because of the unique subject, and I was very much entertained. I was also very much interest in watching Jang Hyuk after his excellent performance in Chuno, but in the end I was more impressed by Kim Hee Ae, with her portrayal of a female version of junk bond king and market manipulator Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas in Wall Street). She was as unscrupulous as Gekko in turning everything she touched into gold, but unlike him she was very much restrained and cool-headed. She performed the cougar to the much younger Jang Hyuk and she played it very well with subtlety, with her controlled emotions and no explicit encouragements. Do dramas exaggerate the behavior of the ruling and super rich class? Maybe or maybe not. One may think that if you have the brains and talent and the drive to get to the top, the least that can be expected is not to be dumb nor act like one. As true it is that there are bad apples in every profession it is also true that there are dumb and stupid people in the top 1% of society; I am talking about adults that are acting like spoiled, misbehaved little rascals.
