EXCELLENT
The acting was supreme. Cumberbatch, also plays Sherlock Holmes in "Sherlock" for PBS, portraits a self-isolating genuis, who is pulled into life with others, after his brothers sudden death. His roller coster trip into finding out why his brother died, why his newly discovered sister-in-law disappeared, and why the project he was supposed to be working on is entangled? He soon discovers he is in a "1984" situation, and Big Brother is really messing with everyone. Caryle's character is an constant question mark, until the end.
Orwell couldn't have concieved of the modern devices that can be used to play Big Brother.
Using a democracy as the politcal backdrop for this intrigue is only logical, for democracies are the easiest to upset. Example, Hilter was democratical elected to his post, which did lead to WWII. We don't always look at the whole picture, and the effects that a single vote may lead to. This is just a warning for all for what could happen, if we let our fears curtail our freedoms.
