Description

Watch it boys: if you're trying to get in, these girls will make sure you stay out! Poor Shingo. His coed school, Kagamidai, begins the process of merging with Yuihime, an all girls private academy. Not only that, but Shingo's also been picked to be part of a group of test males who will be transferred into a Yuihime classroom. Suddenly, he is surrounded by the enemy, no ammo in sight, and with literally no man power to back him up. How will Shingo survive this death trap of feisty females? Will he learn to coexist, or will he just get his eyes scratched out?

Except for the weird short Legged cat I can easily assume this may very well be the way it would work out in real life. Though episode 3 was skipped, in episode 4, the all Girls class rep said something that in Japan they take quit seriously. She has Shingo call her by 1st name.

Many people may not realize it but the 1st name is almost a sacred thing to the Japanese,
it's only used among family, and very close friends. Yet pace of the story doesn't overdo the familiarity, it in fact emphasizes how quickly and how close they've become with excellent subtlety.

Pretty typical of a lot of boy-meets-girl anime, and the challenge for most producers and writers is to put a new spin on each take. Circumstances out of one's control is the quickest way to get the ball rolling on situations, so I think it's a good direction to go. The idea for integration between an all-girls' school and a co-ed school nicely fits the bill.

The animation itself is nice, and consistent. The pace is starting out easy, and I hope there's enough comedy to make up for the feel-good scenes. That's mainly the whole reason I watch boy-meets-girl stuff, for the funny.
