However, I was much quicker in noticing some of my disappointments towards the show. I compared the show to "Anime TV," which I believe to be a more reliable and thorough source for anime shows. With that said, the following are some gripes I have with "Manga Minutes":
1. The category choice of shows, manga, and games is clear: Sci-Fi. Many products reviewed are of this category--a big thumbs down for me. I was hoping the review choice would match Hulu's anime range, reviewing shows of the action genre as well as the slapstick, slice-of-life, or supernatural genres.
2. How reliable are the hosts? I haven't been up to date with "Anime TV," but the last time I watched it, Johnny Yong Bosch, an appropriate choice, was the main host. What are the credentials, tastes, and background of the hosts of "Manga Minutes"? "Anime TV," on the other hand, have more than two judges; last time I watched, there were about eight, well-seasoned, highly opinionated reviewers, and each had their own distinct tastes. If a reviewer was giving an opinion on sci-fi anime but was more accommodated to, say, Shoujin anime, he or she would say so. On the other hand, if that was their area of expertise, they would also say so. It just makes a difference to me, being a college student and not having much time checking on whether or not their opinions are valid.
