I've always wondered how a newsroom worked and "Making the News: Texas Style" gave me a heads up on the day to day workings of a small to mid-sized newsroom. Not only did I learn how they gather and broadcast it, It showed the fierce competition between Reporters, The irony of an Anchor being replaced by the more popular Anchor from a rival station in town and a novice producer doing his best to prove his worth to the News Director. All in all, It was an entertaining inside look into news gathering and how it's presented that is rarely seen by a public that reveres it's local news people as the friends of the family with poofy hair!!
