Majikoi Oh! Samurai Girls!

TLDR: Give it a shot. But really, if you need a 'tldr', why are you reading reviews?So, let's get right to it. The name of the series is 'Majikoi Oh! Samurai Girls!' When you're browsing shows to watch, you can hover the mouse over an option and see a little summary. Hover over this one, you'll get a story blurb and some tags. The tags are as follows: anime, comedy, action, samurai, martial arts. You can also see that it's only 12 episodes long. So tell me, really, with that information at your disposal... what do you expect?Would I call this the best anime I've ever seen? No. Not even close. Did I enjoy it? Yeah. Personally, I think I was delivered everything I was promised. This is a silly <anime> that has plenty of <action> and <comedy>. It also has the <samurai> and <martial arts> themes in there, as promised (in the kind of way than most any anime would). Finally, it has enough of a storyline and overall point to string all these things together.I've seen a couple complaints I deem worthy of addressing.The first is the censorship. Yes, they censor things. Personally, I find it a little comical to get the 'TV Mature' warning at the start of every episode only to find that it's so thoroughly censored... I mean, I know there's 'strong language'... but that seems like a sad reason for a 'Mature' warning. Still, it doesn't ruin the series at all. Honestly, if the censoring of girly bits in this series bothers you that much, I think you should probably stop trying to watch anime and go do a quick Google search or something.The second complaint is the difference between Episode 1 VS the episodes that follow. It's true, the first episode has a bit of a different feel to it. Suffice it to say it's a different sort of action. I don't feel that the latter episodes are of lower quality based on that difference. However, I guess I could understand disappointment based on expectations formed from episode 1's content... Didn't ruin anything for me, though.

Since I am short on time I'll get to the point.
I've been a fan of quite a few animes here and there. Gundam to Toradora! And I must say that I am impressed. It is hard to find good anime now days compared to what they used to be. I will not compare this to other animes of today that most people know (bleach naruto OP) b/c they simply pale in comparison. Unoriginals. If you want something like them you can go back to where they copied: Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ, and other old ones that I can not remember. Back to the point: This show IS original. It gave me laughs and at the same time was not too perverted making the characters uneedingly hot. Everything gives way to the plot, even the fights. The fights have a meaning behind them backing up the story and character development. Sadly, the creators decided to make a sequel game Majikoi S!
Which is pretty much the ending of the original game (since majikoi started as an eroge) and this anime.As an anime it did well and did not disappoint. Well done Hulu and creators of Majikoi.

The censoring ruins this anime. This anime is pretty perverted but yet they censor everything. The censoring is insane too, they censor it with big pictures of characters so that nothing is shown. I'm on episode 3 or so and I have seen one girl with only bra and panties on but other than that everything else has been censored with pictures. I don't know if this will change in future episodes but all I know is that the TV-MA is only for the language context and nothing else so far. For the most part they should have just made it a regular anime instead of trying to get all perverted with it. The perverted parts only work if its not censored and the fighting is not good enough to make up for all the censored perverted parts. All in all its not that good of a perverted anime or a martial arts anime, I guess its more of a chick-flick anime, at least so far, but it doesn't look like that will be changing anytime soon. Give it a try but don't expect too much, some of the other reviews are misleading.
