I enjoyed the first season of this immensely. The only drawbacks of the first season are in what appear to me to be staged incidents courtesy of Cody and Ali, to make sure the show will be action packed enough, such as the opening play "fight" in episode 1. It's otherwise remarkable for the candor of showing daily life in the household. It is unusual for someone of Ali and Cody's age to be tolerant of public witnessing of authoritarian displays and authority struggles as sometimes seen in this show, and I wonder if retrospect didn't cool both of their ardor for a further season on this basis. Most people of Ali and Cody's age do manage to have a mutually affectionate relationship with parents often times and the household can run cooperatively because of that, and further most people of that age even agree that a head of household in control is the best way for the family to function where cooperation doesn't go far enough or fails; but even so they tend to be very sensitive to outsiders witnessing the power dynamic, tending to greatly prefer a harmonious face to the world that seems more egalitarian than hierarchical, as if they all get along by being sensible as opposed to a very experienced and mature person exercising plenty of authority. Anyhow, hope to see a second season. Loved the first.
