I really liked the first season. Intelligent, clever... I do have to find out which show this was a rip-off though... I want to see it!
The acting and characters were fantastic in the first season, the second has gone downhill dramatically IMHO until probably the last 2 episodes, which seem to be improving.
The relationships are disjointed, the characters fluxuate and Lightman seems like his bi-polar and grumpy. They must have changed the writers. Too bad. I love Tim Roth, but Lightman used to have a softer side and wasn't so manic. Also the chemistry between the characters used to be more prominent and shaped.
I did think this episode was better. I hope they continue to go in this direction.

I really enjoyed the first season of "Lie to Me"! It has quickly become one of my favorite shows. It brought something fresh and different to television. I'm not blasting all of the Medical dramas, Courtroom dramas, or even Police dramas at all. There is a huge audience for those type of shows. Sadly, when a formula works very well, it's done over and over again. That's why I was drawn to Lie to Me. I applaud Samuel Baum for going out on a limb and thinking outside of the box a little bit. Deception Detection was an untapped market. You have people that want to rip the show apart because of a little slight imperfections here and there. Challenging it's believability and comparing some scenarios in the show with real world applications. Come on! Why can't somethings be created solely for the purpose of pure entertainment? You can debate on the science of the show all you want, but the real question is, "Did this show entertain me"? If the answer was "YES" then Lie to Me did it's job for the week. I wish the entire cast and crew much success.

I get it, actors, almost to a person are left-wing, haranguing fanatics who don't want to hear anything that doesn't fit with their preconceived notions. Check.
Why do I have to hear commentary about Colon (spelled that way on purpose) Powell's UN speech on my show? Stop with the political commentary. I already walked away from ReGenesis, I'd be happy to abandon this show, too. I'm sure the cat should be bathed once a week, and right now I have a candidate for a time slot.
BTW, Lightman has about as much chance with a hot 20-something as Bill Clinton. Stop already.

Let's skip past the determined inbreeding it would take to create the bad guy. Tell me that whatever cover story the FBI guy comes up with, this genius wouldn't tell exactly what went on that day. And this is hardly the only show where skin-tight dresses and perfect makeup must be on display in order to prove women are the intellectual equals to unshaven, dirty, disheveled male co-workers.
Instead, let's focus on the social impossibilities we're expected to swallow. Lightman, going to a nightclub rather than a bar for a drink after a long day hostaging. And despite his sweaty, ageing, depressed demeanor, a young hottie tries to pick him up. A beautiful temptress flashes him some underarm, despite being surrounded by groomed, tall, young men. Of course she does.
Try. At least try to acknowledge that good actors are working their arses off trying to sell your terrible scripts to the back row.

Mekhi Phifer’s acting? Is it just me or does his acting skills lack belief and just pure talent? I believe he is a horrible no talent actor that landed this role off of pure desperateness of FOX network. I’m sure they had a better rounded actor lined up but fell through on them. Now they’re stuck with this no talent hack that is making their rating drop. Lose him and I’m sure the TV series will gain more credit. Other than that overall the show is great, just get Mekhi Phifer out of there ASAP!!!

I've loved this series from the first show, but it is trending towards ultra-violence that really turns me off. I don't find suspense improved by finding more bizarre and extreme ways to bombard me with ultraviolence. Instead I simply find tasks to do while putting the show on pause, and increasing I debate whether I really want to even see the rest of the episode.
If I wanted to see Clockwork Orange with a new psychological twist, that'd be fine. I don't. I am considering not bothering to watch more episodes.

Wow, talk about an array of emotions. This episode was all over the place, and in a good way. Keep up the good work you all. Great actors, the shots and dialog were great.
Lets make it more interesting and put in a Nemesis. Not just some rival but an arch nemesis that uses these kinds of gifts in a really bad way.
So far, we've seen Cal do great things, lets make it where he's dead wrong, and someone saves him or something. So we all don't think he's the perfect reader.
Anyways, we just need some tie ins that make this even more interesting. I agree with some comments as well, where we can make this relatable to the real world scenarios that Battlestar Galactica did for us and 24 as well.
