Description

In this series, Lidia journeys throughout Italy to sample and prepare local specialties from Rome, Naples, Padua, Sicily, Trieste and Istria. Back in her kitchen in the United States, the warm and engaging host demonstrates two or three recipes she encountered during her travels. Throughout the series, friends and family often join Lidia in the kitchen. Her daughter Tanya introduces some of Lidia's favorite hidden cultural treasures, while her son Joseph frequently stops by to discuss regional wines.

I've been watching Lidia's cooking shows for years. She is always so fun to watch - her family is so friendly, her little grandkids are adorable. Her insights into Italy are so interesting. I adore her whole family except her son Joe. He used to be very heavy and lost a lot of weight - he's heavy in these episodes. Now he's a judge on Ramsey's Master Chef and is a real snob - he's a snob on Lidia's Italy too, but Lidia is such a professional and great hostess, she can cover it up for him. Sometimes the looks she gives him though...
