NBC's laugh fest "Last Comic Standing" returns for a seventh season with new host Craig Robinson ("The Office") who will helm the search for the funniest comedian in America. Joining Robinson as judges are respected comedians Greg Giraldo, Andy Kindler and Natasha Leggero.
dude, there's a reason they only take professionals on this show: nobody honestly wants to see a rookie comic stumbling around in front of hundreds and thousands of people before he can hack it. Being a comedian isn't something you're just born with like a singing voice or ear for music.
It's the same material because that's all he wrote. Why bother writing anything new? It was good enough to get him that far. Good news is, that will probably be the last time he gets a special so you'll never have to hear him say it for a third time.
It's about who you know and how they can get you on the show. Don't trust it's REALLY about talent looking for a big break and don't believe the winner will get their own show. They never do ! Waste of time to the contestants that go through the motions only to have the favorites decided from the start. And waste of time to the people camped out for a chance---you won't make the final cut and you absolutely won't win. And although it warms your heart to think Sally drove all the way from Kansas to live her dream, she'll be turned down too. They need that story to promote and to get viewers, otherwise, they couldn't care a less who's in line. The show already knows who's going on.
First off, Andy Kindler. He was annoying the entire season with his "clever" wardrobe suggestions and nonstop whiny voice. You know that you are a crappy comic when the one thing you are known for is commenting on your jokes within your act, that means you're jokes, which should be your precious babies that you put time and energy and love into, are clearly disposable and he clearly doesn't believe in them so he just kind of does a trial and error thing on stage to find out which parts of his act are actually funny. Not exactly the ideal comedy judge criteria. Next up, Kathy Griffin. Aside from the canned laughter which almost makes me sympathetic to her, her act felt like I was walking down a gossip magazine aisle. Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Mel Gibson, Oksana. Then she somehow she got the balls(possibly from another surgery of hers) to rip on fake boobs. What? She is the last person that has the right to judge people getting cosmetic surgery. The crowd clearly wasn't going for it, so she went right back for the gossip magazine aisle. She brings up Jersey Shore for some cheap laughs. She then uses the same joke twice("Not if but when I have sex" with The Situation and Matthew McConaughy) Then back to the gossip magazine aisle again with The Real Housewives of New Jersey and some bit about how they cast women who aren't necessary brilliant and make grammatical errors in their speech. I wonder why they would do this? Way to end with a bang Kathy. I understand why they went with a non-comedian to host the show since it would be weird for a fellow comedians opinion to not be respected by being the host but not a judge, but did they have to constantly have Craig telling "jokes." It just made it painful to watch. Lastly, Felipe. How? Why? What? I never laughed out loud at anything he said. It's like if American Idol had held on to William Hung long enough for him to win. It sucks because a show about rising comedians has so much potential to be awesome if they went in any other direction than the direction this show went. That's why I hope this is the Last Last Comic Standing unless they make drastic changes.
Tags are user-generated labels related to this video or show that can help you discover related videos on Hulu. Check the tags you feel are most appropriate for this show or add your own (the number in parentheses indicates how many other users have used that tag.)
