Kurau: Phantom Memory

This story hit me right here *hits chest*, not only was the story and plot great but the message with-in ( the one most animes have that makes you feel better for wtaching them). Art was solid, but it was the sound that got me, that music beat the mood right into me( side note: I heard the piano part of it in Chobits, and that got me thinking of it again), the fact is that one melody was the most wonderful thing about this anime, the sound designer who put it in should get a "freakin medal" or some award. The whole reason I was moved was the sound and the sheer beauty of this story. So watch it now without hesitation, enjoy it," .....Laugh then cry, then smile up at the sky."- J.A.S (one of my own little sayings).

When I say mature, I mean in the sense of being for grownups. The bright lighting actually intensifies the darkness of the storyline. The story is intelligent, suspenseful and emotionally powerful. There's a message here, but it's so deeply nuanced that you have to find it for yourself, rather than being beaten over the head with it. I found myself being pulled along by the action and caring about the characters--all of them. That's something you don't often see in Anime. Monica Rial's portrayal of Kurau strikes just the right balance of toughness and vulnerability. This series is a superb piece of storytelling.

This anime is what is good about a science fiction story. Great sci-fi is not about the technology or gadgets it's about people and how they react to the situations and being better people for the experience. Characters drive a great story and this has well developed characters as well as a great plotline.

i loved this series it was a very good story and very dynamic i love renax but i was so sad when they took kurau away from hulu but they brought it back........ well at least some of the series actually they only have 4 episodes but what eves because my favorite is the first one anyways

I really liked this story. Everything was top notched but there seemed to be something of substance lacking... I can't wait to see what all of you thought of it.

Status: 24 episodes watched.This show has good vibes. It isn't a sappy love story or an over the top blood spraying action show either. It has a nice balance of unique characters and excitement. Also, this anime was a little refreshing to me personally, because it didn't rely on cheap anime cliches to just take up time and space. Like the sigh of relief mushroom or bottomless pit belly. The plot maintains smooth development and doesn't slam random twists in your face.Good production, good dubbing, and original enough to remember.
