The Veggie gang set sail on a whale of an adventure in Jonah. Filled with music, laughs and the strangest adventurers ever to be swallowed whole, this is the story of Jonah and the whale as you've never seen it before.
The truth and veracity of the bible is not contingent upon any one person's belief. I am sure it saddens God, the author, to know that some people would dismiss documented facts that favor the bible’s reliability, due to an interpretation of the reason for some commonalities amongst different religions. This “documentation” you refer to does not address what is true as much as it points out common themes. I agree with the interpretation that other religions developed from cherry picking portions of the truth to codify. Having said all of that, this movie is based on the bible's book of Jonah. It contains excellent moral lessons for everyone, not just children. (Calling names is not compassionate.) This movie is a delightful way to illustrate universal truths which all have their origin in the Creator, Jesus. The music is exceptional and the animation outstanding. It is an excellent introduction to objective truth and should lead to the pursuit of more. Plus, it's funny!

I do not believe in the bible due to documentation showing that all religions are copied from one another. However, this movie teaches good lessons to kids.VeggieTales is a good way to teach children how to share, be kind and respect one another. Especially nowadays in society, when people are quick to laugh and point at one another for the sake of fun.I use this movie as a teaching tool for preschoolers. They do not understand the religious beliefs behind it, but they do understand that sharing, caring and being kind are GOOD things. The bible overall isn't my favorite book, for sure. But it does have good lessons in it for kids, if you break it down and simplify it.
What i don't get is why someone would watch a movie that is obviously a Biblical tale put into a for for children to understand and to understand the moral of the story, then bash the story because, "i don't like the way they did that" or " i am not religious". Please for your kid's sake read reviews or description of the movie before you watch because when you don't it makes you seem more ignorant than you are.
