It had a good premise, but this show was pretty laughable.Watching it now, there are some attributes that make it unfavorable to watch. It probably lost some credibility with the audience. (Of course when watching it at the time, I thought it was awesome; then again, I was a pre teen and didn't know good television from bad.)Some of these things include:
-Unprofessionalism of the members of the police force.
-Over acting, or not enough on some people's parts.
-Focused too heavily on cop drama, and not enough on underlying plot.
-lack of chemistry between characters
-Karen is very .... Of-putting and a bit of a drag. Not to mention superficial.While Friday nights were a significant factor, I doubt it would have really taken off and produced a season 2.   See 1 other reply

Everything after 9 was disappointing to me. The mourner arc was almost as stupid about riddles as Batman Forever, and in ep. 13 Doe sets off a fire sprinkler in one room and it sets off the sprinvkler in the next room oer. I understand them making stupid stuff up to make the plot move when it's something esoteric like computer programs, but sprinkler systems are mechanically very simple. I literally facepalmed.I had a great time watching it but I think FOX saw where the show was going in the later episodes and made the right call. The writers ran out of steam.   See 5 other replies
