The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Controller and provide accounting support for all business units. The ideal candidate is self directed, and possesses atypical analytical and communications skills with the ability to interact directly with the senior level executive team. The ideal candidate has the right technical accounting and financial background, has a passion for online video, and thrives on digging into, understanding, and communicating information in a fast paced environment.

Primarily responsibilities include:

• Month-End Close — Oversee the month-end close process, including the review and posting of journal entries, identification of accruals, and preparation of general ledger reconciliation schedules. Maintain the month-end close calendar and work with existing accounting staff to ensure close activities are proactively being performed in advance of month-end.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis — Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP, partner specific financial reporting packages, internal management reporting, and detailed budget-to-actual variance analysis. Ensure monthly financial statements are issued timely and external reporting deadlines are adhered to. Assist with the preparation of year-end footnote disclosures and additional ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Accounting Policies and Procedures — Work with the Controller to establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures. Shepherd the continued development of formal process documentation. Identify and recommend changes to improve key processes.
• Audit and Tax Support — Work directly with external auditors to organize and plan audit schedules and provide audit support documentation. Work directly with external tax professionals to provide documentation to support the preparation of the tax return.
• Ad Hoc Accounting Projects — Work with the Controller on ad hoc projects, including implementation of automation in key transaction areas, one-off reporting requests, etc.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience, combined public audit and private accounting experience preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Oracle experience preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel required.
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling many competing tasks and demands.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of staff including senior management.
• Atypically high attention to presenting work in a clear, well laid out manner.
• Familiarity with online media and metrics reporting and analysis preferred.
• Strong interest in media and entertainment with emphasis in technology/online video content.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting required

Staff Accountant — Accounts Payable

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Controller and provide accounting support for all business units. Primarily responsibilities include:

• Ownership over all accounts payable duties including, the processing of accounts payable transactions (coding invoices and expense reports), obtaining or verifying appropriate approvals, and inputting into the Oracle accounting system (“Oracle”).
• Matching purchase orders with invoices in Oracle.
• Printing of checks, preparation of voucher packages, and filing of paid invoice vouchers.
• Generation of disbursement reports from Oracle.
• Generation of revenue share statements for content and distribution partners and initiation of check disbursements.
• Assisting the Manager of Accounting & Finance with various monthly close duties.
• Ad hoc projects (as needed).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years hands-on financial accounting experience.
• Must be detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
• Experience with Oracle financial accounting system strongly desired and/or familiarity with another enterprise-level system.
• Thorough understanding of debits and credits as they relate to accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
• Ability to analyze issues and implement solutions.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with all levels of Management, employees, and customers.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical periods such as month and year-end closings.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required; general working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint preferred.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related major preferred
