As a true fan, I see this show as the cream of the crop of police shows. Because of the unique stories portrayed over the course of the series; many issues have been tapped and recycled in other television dramas today. Equally satisfying as a good novel, the writing is multilayered and strong.
Hunter is perhaps one of the greatest shows of all time. Beginning with the cast of characters. Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer were found by these roles. That is why they remain so memorable. The list of weekly guests include many high caliber actors such as: Legendary Jane Russell, The great John Amos, and Beah Richards. I also enjoyed seeing my favorite singer; Chaka Khan. Ms. Kramer also has some musical pipes. I appreciate those people who know how to really sing and these ladies really are songstresses.
There are also alot of comedic moments in the show; The play back and forth between Rick and Dee Dee is pure chemistry. I think my favorite one is when Dee Dee played the bag lady trying to catch a murdering reporter(Ann Marie Johnson). She is talking into a microphone in a liquor bottle dispatching Rick to pick her up. Then another bum comes up and starts to do the same thing. That is probably the best episode; because of its serious nature and relevance even in today"s society. Let"s not forget the parade of clunkers(no cash for).
How can you go wrong with a show featuring two Los Angeles cops grinding out weekly: international intrigue, drugs busts, arson, rape, and revenge? They did it well and they looked good doing it. Terrific Show!
