H.R. Pufnstuf

Wow - Long time since I seen this show and first time realizing that it looks like Wizard of Oz meets Winnie the Pooh and the Monkees. Sid & Marty must have been puff'n to whip this out. Love the subtle humor stuck in, like the Door named Lestor and the Witch's flunkies, Stupid Bat, Seymore the spider and that vulture - I think it's suppose to be a vulture. Those white boots on Puff have to go! WTF were they thinking? The show has it's charm in a cartoony way - moved along pretty well but then they broke out into song ? lol - I didn't remember that when I was a kid. Wizard of Oz similarities: The witch, The magic path (aka Yellow Brick Road), Golden Flute (aka Ruby Slippers), Witch's castle, Munchkins (Cling & Clang), Then the show singer Frog in the dungeon just happens to be named "Judy" (after Judy Garland?) . . . Best part of this show, I thought, was the villains. The protagonists are kinda dull, but the antagonists are witty and worth watching.
