Jack Nicholson stars as the controversial union leader in this fictionalized account of the life of James R. "Jimmy" Hoffa.
We see Hoffa's life through the eyes of his friend, Bobby Ciaro (Danny Devito, who also directed), from his early days during the Great Depression as he founded the Teamsters Union, to his rise to President of that union and his frequent clashes with President Roosevelt, through his battles with the Kennedys that ultimately landed him in prison, to his Presidential pardon by Richard Nixon and his mysterious disappearance in 1975.
Oscar®-nominated for Best Makeup and Best Cinematography, HOFFA is a fascinating portrait of this enigmatic man.
no, that's really dumb. actors fake stuff all the time, it's kind of their job. i like authenticity, and taking a few drags isn't going to give you cancer, but smoking is generaly not the most important part of a performance

Agreed. If your not willing to die of cancer you shouldn't take the role. Creating authenticity for a film is way more important than your health. Also they should of really shot DeVito at the end. When you die you **** yourself. When they picked him up he shoulda had **** on his slacks. I guess they coulda faked the gunwounds and just had him **** hisself.

This is a great movie, interesting story and excellent acting. The only thing that bothers me is Robert Proskys' performance as Billy Flynn. I'm assuming that in real life he was a non-smoker (due to his lack of inhaling cig smoke) which is fine, but when you accept a role that requires smoking, I feel that you should either bite the bullet and inhale or turn down the role. I think it looked very silly in the scene in the truck right before he gets burned up when he takes a big drag and blows it right out as if it were a cigar.Your thoughts?
Tags are user-generated labels related to this video or show that can help you discover related videos on Hulu. Check the tags you feel are most appropriate for this show or add your own (the number in parentheses indicates how many other users have used that tag.) To find other shows with similar tags, simply click on the tag that interests you most.
Tags are keywords or category labels that can help you and others find videos on Hulu. They also classify videos for later recall. You can tag videos yourself by simply checking the box next to a popular tag for a video or by using the "add" field to create a new tag. Click on any tag — "comedy" for example — to discover other videos similarly tagged by you or other users. Because tags are reviewed by Hulu, there may be a delay in surfacing your tags. The most relevant tags are sorted by category for the rest of Hulu to see. You may assign up to 30 tags for any video or show; to review all of your tags, see the Tags section on your profile page.
Your tags may be visible to other users on Hulu. You should not use:
Profane or obscene language
Tags that are inciting or spiteful
Tags that might harass, abuse or threaten members of the community
Tags that may reveal your personal information or any personal information about children under age 13
Tags that promote illegal or immoral conduct
Tags containing special characters or more than 50 characters
