This how assumes that as long as they can come up with renovation plans that fits the potential home owners budget then its OK. No doubt this show provides ideas, some times great ideas, of how to do major renovation of existing houses. However, the renovation ideas were put forward without regard of the average housing price of the neighborhood. If any of the home owner go ahead with those renovation ideas, he/she will be set back greatly money wise. Only a fraction of the renovation money will the home owner be able to recover by the time the house is on the market again. Considering it only a mere 9 years for average time of house ownership, which is hardly enough to raise the average housing price of a neighborhood significantly, assumes housing bubble will not be repeated, I love the renovation ideas this show provides but very nervous for the lack of concern of the housing market reality of those ideas.
