Getting started with Hulu on Apple TV

Launching the Hulu app and signing in 

From the main menu of the Apple TV, select the green Hulu icon and click on the center Select button on your Apple remote. Then, choose the log in option that best fits. 

If you are already a Hulu subscriber and are having trouble accessing your account, please go to our Forgot Password page to reset your password. If you initially created your Hulu subscription on your Apple TV, you are being billed through iTunes and can click the Purchased through iTunes? Restore button on the main screen of the Hulu app. You will then be able to log in with your Apple ID to access your subscription (to verify if your Hulu subscription is being billed through the iTunes store, please see this help article).

 

 

Signing up for Hulu on Apple TV

For new Hulu subscribers, first access the Hulu icon from the main screen on your Apple TV. Once you've launched Hulu, you will have the option to sign up for Hulu directly from within the app. By signing up for Hulu on your Apple TV, you will be billed each month through your Apple account. For more information about Apple billing, please visit here

 

 

Streaming issues with Hulu on Apple TV

For some basic troubleshooting suggestions, go to: Settings > General > Troubleshoot

If necessary, please also try the following: 

  • Restart your Apple TV by going to: 
    • 3rd generation Apple TV: Settings > General > Restart
    • 4th generation Apple TV: Settings > System
       
  • Power down your equipment (Apple TV, modem, and router) for approximately one minute and then power back up
     
  • If you are watching a video over a wireless connection, connect your Apple TV directly to your router via an ethernet cable
     
  • Disconnect any other devices from the network
     
  • Verify your network settings by going to: 
    • 3rd generation Apple TV: Settings > General > Network
    • 4th generation Apple TV: Settings > Network
  • Update our Apple TV software by visiting:
    • 3rd generation Apple TV: Settings > General > Update Software
    • 4th generation Apple TV: Settings > System
