For years, I have absolutely detested reality shows, and anyone who watched them.

This show has turned me into that which I hate.

And I'm loving every minute of it.

I agree that Hell's Kitchen is not as good as Top Chef or Iron Chef... I think there are situations added/invented to fabricate drama, - for example - if "Matt" is really like that, then I am scared for anyone who ever has to deal with him about anything...

That said, my husband - a career chef, who has worked nearly every position - dishwasher to exec. chef will tell you if you ask, that he has not only seen chef's curse endlessly and in alternating languages, he has seen them throw things and toss employees out of kitchens all the time for doing stupid things.

As noted previously these "chefs" make elementary mistakes all the time (burning your expiditer, setting a pan on fire and NOT putting it in the sink, not checking food temps, serving bad seafood...) These are the kinds of things you get yelled at for, no matter how many stars or diamonds the restaurant you work for has.

My husband watched one chef get reamed over putting a Lobster in a pot to cook before the water was boiling (pretty inhumane for the Lobster).

So if someone works for a restaurant where the cooks/chefs don't get yelled at daily, please let us know, 'cause I think my husband wants and application.

ALSO, how did the previous poster miss the horrendous language (and barely averted physical violence) on Top Chef and why would anyone let children watch? Shouldn't they be studying?
