Going to college you know this what you're faced with, it's up to you to make a decision with your life. If people think this is what they have to do to be part of the crowd, that's their decision. I don't feel sorry for any of these kids. Welcome to being an adult, growing up is tough.

I can't believe some of the comments on this documentary. He deserved it? It's pathetic? You're laughing while watching these kids drink themselves in to a coma; they're bleeding, crying, throwing up, etc. Obviously this is a REAL issue on college campuses today. With friends in fraternities, and as a senior at college now I've seen these situations play out exactly as documented in this film. Seeing a student passed out on a couch or even on the floor, outside, on porches, is such a common experience at parties that it really doesn't surprise me an ambulance wasn't called in time. It's amazing how easily college students get sucked in to this lifestyle. It is what is expected once you reach college, acceptable though it obviously should not be. This is an issue that should be addressed as often as drunk driving has been addressed, and I think this film does a very good job at doing so.

Although tragic., if he thought that would earn him rights of passage in college frat life then unfortunantly he made a bad choice..even so he did have a mind of his own and not in his right mind due to alcohol HE OVER INDULGED !!!!!! people say when u get to college party party party and if thats what was presented thats what he did.but on his own. true someone should have made that phone call but he also could have stood up for himself becoming an adult means you have to make ADULT DESCISONS not play follow the leader frat are great for leardership skills and growth for most but some just dont take the teaching seriously and end up like gordie he was supposed to thrive from everything he put into college life and apparently hadnt matured to that point yet

The problem is college students not fraternities. The finger is pointed at the greek organization by those that have never been a part of it (which is fine, to each his own), but you can't judge what you truly don't know about. I had more pressure to drink at college parties than I ever did by my fraternity brothers. What you don't see is the college students that die at house parties or in the dorms that aren't greek. Now there are chapters that don't uphold their national standards, but most chapters are taught how to properly address risk management situations. People that are starting to get too drunk at parties get sent home. Like I said not all are great, but most fraternities are actually great at teaching you how to be a responsible adult, leader, and how to address situations properly.

Wow. What an amazing film. I think they should not only teach children sex education, but also alcohol education and show this documentary. My heart goes out to Gordie's family and close friends. What strength it must take to share this heartbreaking story with everyone.
I must also say I agree with Liza K. Decrimalize marijuana. Stoner students with munchies sounds much better than dead drunken college students, don't you think?

These are the kind of 'jerks' that have always tried to subvert what makes being your own person great. Why would anyone allow their child to join a frat in the first place? Instill in your children a sense of self and they will never need this kind of thing. For me it has always been an us and them kind of thing. It is really ok to hate the greek system, what is it with the greek thing anyway? Screw them. Be yourself. It really has nothing to do with drinking.
