I watched this right after Attic Cat. It had gotten to the point with AC that I would open multiple other windows and just check in every 10 minutes. (Fighting? Check. Kicks him out? Check. Crying, relative shows up, takes him back, check, check, check. Over and over and over.) Come to think of it, a lot of Kdramas are like that and I have a total drama jones.
Harvest Villa is not like that. It is probably the best-paced drama I have ever seen. You have to pay attention to the screen every second or you will miss something. A refreshing absence of most of the traditional plot-fillers and time-wasters. Flashbacks are minimal and to the point. No boring sub-plots, the entire story line is integrated.
And what of that story line? I hope you like your humor dry, dark and twisted. Then, three quarters of the way in, things just go dark. By dark, I mean droppedyourheadlampinthecave black. This is not slapstick laugh-out-loud comedy. This is "OMGWTF I can't believe they did that, I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks that's funny, hehehehe".
The cinematography is superb, Thanks to the excellence of the direction and camera work, the Harvest Villa, what we would call a condo tower, almost becomes a cast member. I'm in love with the entire cast. Do I want them as my neighbors? No way in #@*&.
The entire drama is available at Dramafever.
