I like big robot fights. My love with mecha-machines comes from the early days of Robotech, Mazinger Z, and has spread up to Dragonaut and Gundam. One thing that I do believe all these big monster/robot fights require is some sort of control of the robot by remote control or by riding inside it in cockpit, or by becoming the robot.
This show lacks that, to me, crucial ingredient. I can't quite feel comfortable with the idea of standing out in the open, right on the robot's shoulder or hand, while its smashing things or getting smashed. So that's a big "no" factor for me. Second, I don't like the eye of the robot. They are too soulfull and bright. IE The robot looks more like a kid than a brawling machine. I can't identify with that. I just don't like "friendly" looking robots ripping each other apart. Mean tough machines going at it, sure that's ok, friendly robots which I want to hug doing the same? Nope, don't feel comfortable with that.
