I think they choose that time frame due to no humans being alive at the time. Maybe they made a topographical error in judgment and thought it was right after the dinosaurs were gone and no cavemen have existed yet.

Or maybe since in the preview that once you go in, you can never come back. Maybe they didn't even have a clue as to what had happen. I'm curious to see the explanation as to how planet earth got as bad as it did instead. Makes me wonder if it was just a mere thought of a writer or based on actual facts from gathers information. Yes but NBC is apart of Universal Studios and Comcast. They can make high budget productions for television show pilots. It's the only reason they could pull off such amazing scenes for their dedicated series like "Law & Order: SVU", "The Office", "Heroes", "Chuck", "The Event", and a bunch of other shows.

But FOX and NBC have both a history in canceling shows too quickly due to ratings and not how loyal a fan base is actually.

CBS, The CW, AMC, and USA are the only networks that keep around shows because the viewers love the shows, not just because the studios thinks it's good. That's why shows like "Smallville", "One Tree Hill", "Psych", "White Collar", "Mad Men", and many other shows have stuck around for as long as they have. See 2 other replies

I'm hoping I just missed some important information in the preview, but if you could go back to anytime period, why would you go back to live with dinosaurs? Hopefully "Something Went Terribly Wrong!" to explain how they wound up at that point in time, because I don't buy that being an error in planning.

Unlike NBC's coming shows I don't see anything here to be excited about. Yes I love Zooey, yes I love Pressley, yes I love irreverent animation, yes I love mind-effing dramas but this stuff looks pretty weak. What's worse is that if any of these shows does have what it takes to win me over it is on the most unforgiving network on TV.
