Guess what? If you don't like grisly horror movies, you won't like this one.
These movies all look the same to the uninitiated, but a good supernatural slasher flick can be distinguished by a perverse sense of ironic humor just below the surface. This film has enough of that quality to be worth a recommendation for fans. It's more goofy than scary, and for me that makes it fun to watch.
It's also a slasher horror movie and not a movie about torture. These days, after the SAW movies and the HOSTEL movies, it's an important distinction. I can handle slasher movies, but I don't want to see movies about torture. I didn't make it past the opening credits of SAW II.
I'm always happy to see the stunningly beautiful Melora Hardin (Jan from the Office), any way I possibly can. Here she plays the Mackenzie's stunningly beautiful mom. I was literally stunned.
Mad BA points. This movie was quite possibly the best cheesy slasher movie I've ever seen. I would recomend this movie to my mom, my cousin, your mom, and anyone that's pretty fly. Watch this. This is going to be a classic.
The following film is both an homage to and an assault on the conventions of cinematic horror developed in the late 20th century. It is a deftly woven tapestry of cultural commentary and absurdist humor presented in the facade of a teen slasher flick. It's Upton Sinclair meets Gregg Araki. It's Elvira by way of Antonin Artaud. It's Kevin Williamson sans strong financial backing. It's parody. It's pastiche. It's perversely postmodern.
Kept waiting for it to get better but it never did. The plot was weak and the music was annoying. The effects were good but it didn't make up for a over all bad movie.
I really liked Drive Thru. It was funny, and exciting. The effects were actually pretty cool and the acting was pretty decent. I think you should take it for what it is. A cheesy low budget horror movie. Its a good one, too.
