Destiny of the Shrine Maiden

This one starts off like any other school life drama. We have Kurusugawa Himeko attending an all girl school and making nice with most popular girl in school and ace student: Himekawa Chikane. And by 'making nice' I mean having a secret meeting during lunch and taking pictures of each other hugging. Lots of pretty people in this one, both female AND male. Lots of still shots too. this is a really good show and very entertaining but uh but who else does this remind of gundum?

So I like it I think the reason that some people dont is becuse they have a closed mind about what a anime is or it should be its an experssion of the creator vision however that is there right not to like it as for the "rape secane" I would not call it that becuse there is no absolut proff that she get's "rape" and also if you find that a reason not to watch it please read the reviews first. But overall its good it does have some ups and downs but overall I think a good watch.

This is for all those who have seriously bashed Hulu for posting this show. I understand that everyone has a preference as to which shows, especially anime, that they favor. Therefore as someone who mostly appreciated this show, i will give my take on the matter just as others have.Contrary to popular belief, this show is not for "mech-loving rapists and child molesters". This show was meant to take the viewer to a more emotional level, with a bit of giant robot action of course. The purpose, I'm sure, was to allow the viewer to deeply feel the emotional conflict between the main characters. Their love and hate, pain and suffering, joy and sadness, where laid out before the viewer. As for the nudity, come on, really! There are at least a half dozen more anime on Hulu that are exponentially worse than this show. In fact, I don't recall any actual nudity at all. All areas were subtly covered, except of course for the rear end, which is common in most anime. As for the rape scene i will not deny that it was disturbing to say the least. But, is that any different than much of the material that is shown in many, anime, movies and TV shows. The point of that scene was to disturb and upset the viewer, all the while confusing them and to feel the pain and suffering of the victim. It was not meant as smut. And if this show was so bad then I see no reason to watch all episodes "hoping for a redeeming quality". That is a very, very sad excuse.As for my rating I give it 3 stars. This is mostly due to the fact that the story line was indeed lacking and i do feel the rape scene was a bit much. I think that they could have gotten the point across a little differently. However, i found the relationships between the main characters engaging and at times heartbreaking. My final opinion: Not the best anime i have seen, however, it was entertaining and ended on an enduring, if not sad, emotional high note.
