Eternal,If you like it that much, then maybe I need to rethink it. Perhaps reality has nothing to do with TV even when it's portrayed as such. If it gives others a sense of release and pleasure, then I'm all for it.On the point of culture though, I must comment. I love culture and the enormous variety our planet offers. I have often felt as though the show puts these other cultures down in a lot of ways though and ignores many facets of others. When they visited that shaman deep in the Amazon forest, we got to see almost nothing of how those people live, and I would have truly enjoyed that. These are ancient people with a heritage far richer than the one we have in the U.S., and I wanted to see more.I also believe there's a lot more to this world than we see. But when it's not investigated seriously and with proper methods, the investigation will always be belittled by serious scholars. That's my primary objection. They create the obstacles that others who really want to understand and study these phenomenon must overcome. And they do it all for a quick buck.But if you and your Mom like it, I guess I'll figure out a way to overcome the ridicule I'll get when I approach it seriously.   See 13 other replies

It doesn't matter whether this is all fake or not. What's more important is that Destination Truth takes you where others never go or rarely go. It's the people he interacts the culture, do you not like culture? I love this show and the only place I can watch it is on Hulu, cause I don't have cable. Thank you hulu. And thank you Destination Truth for an exciting adventure every week! My mother and I both love this show. Well said, and my apologies to all. I wasn't in it for the money either when I started winter camping, and just so you know, the only people I could find who had the cajones to do it with me were all ex-military -- mostly Green Berets and Marines.But as a TV person, it's pretty obvious this show is a sham. I'm not saying that to hurt anyone, and I apologize again if you're so very connected to the show that it hurts to hear that. The signs are everywhere. The latest episode featured a werewolf that the locals were so afraid of they wouldn't travel the woods at night. But during the show they come out of a cave at night -- the very cave everyone is supposed to be so very afraid of that they abandoned 60 homes -- and what do they find? A casual traveler with a cart who takes them to the village everyone abandoned in fear. Yeah, I'm sure that's just coincidence, and if so, nobody cares to explain why this intrepid traveler was out where nobody else dares go. Come on. Let's get real.   See 13 other replies

Not everyone is "in it for the money." Some people do things others wouldn't dream of for other reasons. Trust me, I spent over 20 years in the Army traveling the world and loving it, but definitely not getting rich. I don't know the cast so I can't say which one of you guys is correct it could be either one. Just because opinions differ doesn't mean we have to resort to belittling one another and name calling. Personally I watch the show sporadically, enjoying some episodes and finding others to veer too far from common sense.   See 13 other replies

How the hell does this show still rate 4 out of 5 stars?
Ghost Hunters already looks for ghosts, Monster Quest already looks for monsters and Anthony Bourdain does a far better job quipping on local culture.
They need to do a show where they hunt down new careers.... maybe have Jael get a little nekkit, lol.   See 13 other replies
