A show with a very interesting premise, entertaining and fun; and near the end of it's 1 or 2 season stretch the impatience rises out of the weeds within the minds of some set of decision makers. I don't pretend to know who kills a program; Investors; executive producers; pressure from advertisers? Couldn't tell you. But these shows never have the publicity they would have 20 or 30 years ago. They drown in a sea of reality TV boredom. Why? Because reality TV is cheap to produce. Plus you can run reality TV shows for one or two seasons and end the show with the beginning of a new one, all built on the hangover of some writers at a conference at a mountain resort weekend retreat. But good solid shows which take nurturing and time disappear without notice until now. I'm seeing stuff I didn't know existed. Of course, I'm a guy who has saved some $10,000 over the past 15 years by only having cable TV for one of those years. I realized I never found what I wanted to watch when I wanted to watch it. I have a friend who has produced several movies, one which won an oscar within the past decade. Maybe I should mention my thoughts there. This is a business opportunity in the making; whoever is running TV today is in for some nasty surprises. People only take so much before flipping you the finger!
