Cops

I was once arrested, having returned from a keg party in college. I had smoked half a joint, put the other half of the joint in an ash tray, and fell asleep in the living room. About an hour later, a police officer walked in through my front door, arrested me and charged me not only with the marijuana but obstruction of justice for being asleep and not responding to him immediately.
I couldn't afford a lawyer back then, and the public defender did _NOTHING_ to get the charges dropped. What the police officer did was against the law, and he stacked extra charges on me just for his personal benefit.
Did I break a law? Yes, I smoked some marijuana. Did I commit a crime against society, humanity or morality? No. Did I receive any form of justice? No.
The entire criminal justice system is broken and antiquated. No one receives their due process or any form of justice in this country unless they have oodles of money with which to hire a lawyer.
The police, through their actions, only perpetuate this broken system. It will one day have to stop.   See 4 other replies

Maybe you should disable the 911 buttons on your phone. If anyone breaks into your house, I'm sure you could just throw a tea party and send them on their merry way.   See 5 other replies
