The Acting was mediocre, though it like later episodes does get somewhat better.
Robert McRay who plays Zzeben, is the best actor in the show and he doesn't say a word. The special effects are really lame, whoever did them should Not be allowed to continue in that profession, or at least they should work making movies for the Sci-Fi Channel since their movies Suck.
The costumes especially on the wizards are laughable, they look like something from either a bad circus show or left overs from the Disco era. No Real Wizard would be caught ever wearing them, if they did their enemies would end up laughing themselves to death.
And Crom? Why wasn't Arnold's voice and likeness used for that. It would have been far better for the show if it was. Richard Burton? Come on, most people in the 90's and today don't even know who he is, those that do just think of him as Elizabeth Taylor's husband. They don't remember him as a great actor. So putting his likeness in the show was just the wrong thing to do.When the show ran originally, one of the Main actors Andrew Craig, appears to have left the show after the third episode (Lair of the Beastmen) and a new actor T.J. Storm, takes over a new role on the fourth episode (The Siege of Ahl Sohn-Bar). 17 episodes later the series finale airs (Lethal Wizards which has a definite and satisfying ending to the series). Then, Heir Apparent aired as the last episode and because this was really filmed fourth with the original actor before a new actor had been introduced into the series a new voice over was made explaining why the new guy was gone and why the old guy was back. Confusing right?
To rectify this simply watch Heir Apparent after The Siege of Ahl Sohn-Bar and everything fits perfectly.

I know this show lacks on acting and action scenes but you all have to take into an account that the director had a VERY LOW budget for this show.This show also had a very old school fantasy charm to it that you would only find in the 80s, and the characters are very well done. The villains are not over the top, and I like that a lot. Hissa Zul's main persona is a foul tempered corrupted wizard/king who controls his Empire and wants to keep his power and the population enslaved. He is actually what a villain should be.There is criticism that the Conan character is not true to the novels, but I actually like it that way, and I think that is the way how a hero should be. Very large, strong and intimidating, but still a good guy who cares about other people and wants to use his strength for freeing the oppressed.The other characters are perfect and well done, and the plot is very creative.Ralph Mulher makes a PERFECT Conan, and the way how he is a traditional good guy makes it a whole lot better.This is probably the most underrated show I have ever come across.

well i have to agree with the rest of the opinions on here lol-impuking. but im watchin it bein a conan fan. robert e howard is thinkin about haunting the producers of this show. and the casting director. and the stunt coordinator too hahahahaha-read savage sword of conan the black and white large size comic magazine for a better conan experience.i mean omg some of the weapons were obviously plastic and the stunts are lame and slowwwwwwwwwww and... ponderous would be a good word.the bayu character is the silliest thing ive ever seen. id like to smack that actor wannabe wmyself. to me t j storm was the worst part of the show. even the big fat fella that started out with them was better. i mean that guy bayu shouldve been an extra on the fall guy in the 80s for gods sake.
but.... i like conan so much i am watching it all. tell me there wasnt a season 2 please....

I can't understand this Conan the Adventurer show. Conan never defeats the Sorcerer King because in every episode the Sorcerer King escapes right before Conan can chop his head off. And the women . . . it's as if that is all Conan cares about. Women, Grog, and food. This Conan would be content to just wander around with three sidekicks and eat, sleep with women, and get drunk on grog. It's as if he remembers his goal of becoming king and overthrowing the sorcerer king just in time to incorporate that part of the story into each episode . . . "I was having grog, sleeping with women, eating, and oh I remembered that I have to find and kill the sorcerer king." Ralf Moeller is a German bodybuilder that was also in films such as Gladiator, Universal Soldier, The Scorpion King, and other films people might have heard of. He's no where as popular as Arnold Schwarzenegger who was one of the most notable Conan actors; Conan the Barbarian; Conan the Destroyer; Red Sonja.
