Coffee House

Fist I want to just say that the character relationships are extremely under developed in this drama. There are many loose ends and way to many unanswered questions. In addition, this is a story about a seriously mentally abused girl that wants to become a writer after becoming an assistant to a writer that is a compete idiot. I can't imagine why on earth she would fall for him and is a complete imbecile though the entire series. The worst part is that they made her have an IQ of a completely mentally challenged person through the whole thing. He abuses her, another woman's emotions, ruins his "friends" wedding and somehow gets a woman to become engaged to him even though she is not the main character in the show. As a side note, I would just like to say that any grown man should not entertain a grown woman who has thrown back to many alcoholic beverages and then whimper like a baby when she kisses him. Six times!!?? How do you accidentally let one person kiss you six times when you are clearly stronger and less intoxicated than them, then have the audacity to through it in their face? How about the title douche bag?Finally, the guy is a looser, the heroine is an idiot, and the woman he falls for is a dishonest morally challenged and underdeveloped character. Bottom line, never fall in love with someone who calls you stupid everyday and emotionally berates you as if you are a kicked dog and then lets you kiss them six times while you are drunk. A guy like that should burn in hell.

So this was a very different drama for me. I have watched so many Kdramas, Jdramas, Tdrama, & Cdramas. I appreciated that this did not end in the classic Kdrama way w/ either every1 happy or every1 sad. I was confused w/ the romance part for the longest time, but realized that the history between Lee Jin Soo & Seo Eun Young would have taken more to over come than what Kang Seung Yeon could provide. Besides there was like a huge age gap b/t Lee Jin Soo & Seung Yeon. I thought that Kang Ji Hwan as Lee Jin Soo had a Val Kilmer feel to him. I have watched him in Lie to Me (a new Kdrama that came out this yr) & enjoyed his acting skill, but this drama was very different. This was a drama about lessons in life & how these specific characters dealt w/ it. I appreciated the conflict concerning the romantic aspect & the comedy that was added in. It wasn't the best drama I have ever watched but it was ok. Folks that r looking for other Kdramas check out my facebook pg. I post drama info all the time.

I found myself laughing all the way through this show. I didn't connect with the "melo" parts, or they didn't bring me down the romance between the leads was good on paper, but didn't really show up on screen. The whole cast was great! I loved that their history made them so easy and uncomfortable with each other, I loved the direction and the photography, I love ham jung whatsit and I hope to see her in more shows. She reminded me of a pathetic jung da bin.

First, this show is better than other Korean dramas (in my opinion) so having said that I'm going to point out the parts of this show I didn't like.
It started off humorous and different to other Korean shows, then they had to inject the dramatic, romantic unrequited love bits which I guess is just a must have.
Also, I understand that the assistant is supposed to be this likable humble good hearted girl, however, she is too annoying! At around episode 7 I couldn't really handle her anymore. She has an astonished expression and a look of disbelief way too often.
i.e. boss: "go get me a pen and paper"
assistant: "What? Who me?"
boss: "Go check the messages"
assistant: "What? Who me?"
boss: "I called because I was bored"
assistant: "what? Who me?"
I think her level of incredulity needs to diminish over the development of the show.
I feel like the script writers were lazy and didn't want to make her character more complex. They stage her character as "really dumb", a fact reinforced by her boss but even more credible when her father says it too. So, if we're watching a really dumb girl doing dumb things, how could it not get annoying!
Granted, she starts to learn (slowly) and surprises her boss occasionally. Yet, I wanted her to move along with that momentum and mature more quickly.
