My guess is that many of the critics are not parents. It seems that people know everything about child-rearing until they have first-hand experience. :)This is one of the few shows my 13 month old enjoys and my 3 year old is usually interested. Many of the elements of this show have been successful teaching methods in other shows (Blue's Clues come to mind). If anyone is interested in reading an interesting bit about the effectiveness and use of educational childrens shows there's a great chapter in Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point.
