Look in your TV guide. This IS an early 90s sitcom. It's not a contemporary sitcom like the ones you mentioned. The strained homage to terrible sitcoms of lore (sic) is because it actually IS one of the "terrible sitcoms of lore". Try doing a little research before you post. Of course it seems hopelessly out of touch with today's sitcoms, it was filmed 15 years before they were. On the other hand, you seem hopelessly out of touch with reality. Perhaps you should should leave the internet alone.

This show seems to be trying to evoke the feel of the early 90's sitcom like a Who's the Boss or The Facts of Life or Cheers. But fans of those shows would be much better served watching the originals. The show doesn't feel right and the sitcom just seems hopelessly out of touch with compared to truly funny contemporary sitcoms like HIMYM, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office, Parks & Rec and 30 Rock. Personally the show's strained homage to terrible sitcoms of lore bothers me but it's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that the show is not funny.

I really like this show. It's funny, clever, and even the predictable moments are hilarious. It's too bad it got canceled so soon.
