Ah, the late Elizabeth Montgomery. Put a decent wholesome beautiful blonde in the show and it's sure to be a hit, if the t.v. execs haven't learned that by now they never will. Look at it this way, Sam carried the show, not Darrin, not Endora, not the witchcraft. Asked my wife what she remembered about the show and she twitched her nose.
In my humble opinion this was the best of American t.v. in the '60s. Safe, mildly funny, mildly entertaining with wholesome characters and wholesome plots and of course the quintessential beautiful blonde whom everyman desired to be his wife. Give me this everyday over what's on tv now. This wasn't what made America great, but a symbol of American greatness.
Watching this now is like retreating back in time when we were glorified, not villified. Enough of this depressing thought, let me sit back and go back to the 1960's for another 25 minutes.
