Phil Plait has exactly the right amount of geeky enthusiasm to make this more than just another science show. With all respect to the grim writer who requested a more facile host. there is nothing wrong with a bit of real world personality. The website is classic, and the episodes of this show, however few, are a perfect smart and quirky complement.
It's good to see science told in an upbeat manner such as this. As someone who works in the industry (I download all the images from Mars used in the segment) it's nice to see little piece of the puzzle fitting into everything else.
Excellent short discussion of black holes and their efect on the neighborhood. Dr Plait puts quite a bit of good information into a concise format. I hope to see more.
We need more shows that can focus on the science with such enthusiasm and grace. Love the production quality too (very nice). Well worth your time to watch, learn, and be amazed!
