Back on Topps

I mainly watched this because i like the Sklar brothers. I saw them do stand-up nearly a decade ago and have seen them pop up in film and television since. This series is enjoyable, but not for everyone. I'm not that into baseball or basketball, but I imagine the cameos and references hit solid with that demographic. If you like the Sklar brothers already, you'll probably enjoy this. It's cute.

To be honest, I never wanted to watch the show because of its title. It sounded like a bad sit-com from the 80's. After giving it a chance today, I was surprised to find quite a funny show; albeit each episode only running around 5 minutes. Definitely funnier than some of the sit-coms actually on tv today.The only annoying part was its sponsor: Skype. I'm glad Skype was there to help fund the show (or whatever else sponsors do), but maybe not mention it so much on the show. Although the crew did do a good job of recovering or making a joke when Skype was mentioned in-show.

The dialogue is peppered with baseball references that any true fan can respect, “Sweet mullet of Gaetti!” Also entertaining are an array of cameos. Sports figures like Kevin Love and Russell Martin appear as themselves while actors like Phil Morris who is best and probably only known for his character Jackie Chiles on Seinfeld and "The Office’s" Ed Helms aka Andy Bernard pop up in the show.It is refreshing to watch a sports show that leaves behind the clichés of the business for outlandish scenarios that blend current events with the greatest game ever played.

This is very marginal. I can appreciate low budget web videos, but I don’t think these twins are funny at all. I like the baseball references, but the scipe placements are ridiculous and the brothers come across as more annoying then funny, and let me make this clear, the lines themselves are funny, and they would make the quirky concept work, if it wasn’t for the people delivering them. The Skylers come across as two mildly autistic dweebs with adult ADD who laugh at themselves more then other people do, and this make me feel sorry for them rather then laugh at what they say. I think these guys should stay on the other side of the camera.
