I love this show... Others might complain that the show was contraversal, but let's be real here...life is real and this show brought to light many things that was discussed in my own home growing up.. It brought up real life issues in a comedy atmosphere that the whole family could enjoy. Compared to the trash that the networks put on prime time today ? I'd take All in the family anyday !!!

My husband found a switch wired it from the computer to the big screen TV in the family room. Great viewing!

I agree that watching TV shows on an actual TV is best.

You may hook your laptop (or desktop computer) up tp a TV with the correct software and connecting devices. There's a method that actually lets you "sweep over" the monitor image to the TV screen.

Check C-Net.com for some help with doing this.

You may also find software (perhaps some free) that allows one to download Hulu programming to one's hard drive. Then you may copy those files onto DVD discs.

Aside from those methods, just hook up some ancillary speakers to the headphone jack, and move the laptop to a table that is close to a comfortable chair

It wasn't just about racism. Norman Lear touched on many topics that were taboo at the time. When I watch it, it is dated but ground breaking material. It's funny how this show came from the British, "Til death do us part". Watching it on the laptop is nice, but the tv would be better.

There is some great funny and heartwarming stuff in this series, but the racism and bigotry was always too much for me. Yes I know, they said they were using humor to bring these issues to light, but it seemed forced many times and looked like they were looking to break the sitcom mold and get ratings....that being said, there is some great acting in this series and many of the episodes are written well....there are also some classic TV moments and one liners in this series....
