I am excited about the chance to have a site dedicated to the contributions and the accomplishments of African Americans. The site explores many aspects of the Civil Rights Movement of which youth in the 21st Century are less aware. The Civil Rights Movement, Cica 1950-1980, created a better environment for all Americans, and should be celebrated by itself. However, only focussing on the contibutions of African Americans is not comprehensive of the entire contirbutions from the African American community that have increased the life and wealth of the great country of the United States. Hulu, you have done a great job by highlighting the African American culture and contributions in this way. Thank you.
First, we (white people) are not a minority.
Second, we did not suffer through slavery.
Third, we did not suffer through segregation, racism, racial profiling.
Fourth, What about Christmas.. a national (Christian - mostly white) holiday. Kwanza is not a national holiday.
Fifth, Our dating system is based on Christian views.
Sixth, How low is your ego that you think we need a White History Celebration month? What will we celebrate? Our history of oppression?
The list goes on and on.
How about you just focus on the spirit of the month, instead of trying to make it all about us.
