The first episode, which starts with Angela video-blogging, was good. Funny in a dry sort of way. And then, it just started going nowhere fast. The characters had little redeeming qualities, Brian's infatuation over Angela was getting pathetic, and the guy who was going through his divorce and slept on their couch was just weird.

The only character that was remotely funny was the actress roommate (can't remember her name) but that was only because she was clueless and struggling to make it as an actor.

And they dropped Angela's video-blog point of view pretty early on, which is a shame.

Show's themes reveal an earnest desire to convince its target audience that their lives are being invaded and radically changed at the unceasing pace of technology, and that humans are increasingly divorced from interaction with other humans. The main character's silent chagrin in lieu of relevant material echoes similar routines of awkward silence of The Office. One scene that comes to mind is the four characters just sitting in the living room, eyes glued to their lap tops. I've seen this sort of behavior and even as a hardcore gamer I find the phenomenon disturbing because there is literally no communication. Sadly, episodes are side-tracked by inappropriate sitcom-like routines that veer sharply away from the content at hand.

I really appreciate this because I've actually seen every episode of Quarterlife. This show is almost as funny as that was. Well done.
